Pastor James H. Mason, III is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and has served in full-time ministry for over 21 years. He was ordained in the ministry by his father, Pastor/Church Planter James H Mason, Jr in 1993. Pastor Mason faithfully served as a Youth Pastor and then was promoted to assistant pastor under the great leadership of Dr. Rolston Mondaizie. He served Dr. Mondaizie and The Plant Street Church/Central Church for seven years.
He was then blessed to serve with Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jr. for a total of seven years at the Beulahland/Greater Travelers Rest –House of Hope. Pastor Mason began serving with Dr. Smith as a Daycare Van Driver and was promoted to Executive Pastor and served faithfully. In 2007, Pastor Mason felt led of the Lord to go and help Pastor Vanable H .Moody, II and for seven years he served faithfully as the Pastor of Membership and was later promoted to Chief Ministry Officer. While serving with Pastor Moody, God begin to share a vision with him concerning ministry. In 2014, Pastor Mason and his wife, Pam, stepped out on faith and planted Birmingham Bible Church, formerly The Church of The Way International in Birmingham, Alabama. Their first Bible Study was held on November 19, 2014 at Dante Jelks’ Funeral Home and was a blessing to all who attended.
Pastor Mason earned his Associates of Arts degree from Southwestern Christian College and his Bachelor’s degree from Southern Christian University. He has also attained two Master’s degrees: one from Amridge University in Ministry and a second, Master of Divinity in Leadership from Regions University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Amridge University in Montgomery, Alabama.
He ministers the Word of God in an effective and life-changing way which encourages, edifies, and corrects. It has been said by many that Pastor Mason is the “People’s Pastor.”
Pastor Mason married his best friend, the lovely Pamela L. Mason, on November 29th, 1997, and they have four children: James IV, Moriah, Caleb, and Elijah. Pastor Mason gives God all glory for the great things He has done through him and looks forward to being used even more. He plans to make a lasting impact for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ!
