Who We Are
promoting life change through relevant ministry
History
Birmingham Bible Church, formerly The Church Of The Way International, was birthed out of a sincere desire to obey God’s command for a new, fresh, and bold ministry that would be Christ-Centered, Spirit Led, and Kingdom Focused. God began to deal with Pastor James H. Mason III and his wife internally about starting a new ministry that would focus on reaching the lost and showing them The Way. God’s desire for them was to lead a church where the Spirit would flow freely and the outside community would be impacted. In the fall of 2014, after much prayer, Pastor James H. Mason, III, and his wife, Pam, decided to step out on faith and obey the voice of God, birthing The Church Of The Way International, now known as Birmingham Bible Church. It was founded by God and organized by James and Pamela Mason in 2014.
The Church held its first Bible study on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, in Mr. Dante Jelks’ Funeral Home’s chapel. Here, the Word is being preached and helping many people holistically. We are guided by the Spirit, living out the Word, and pointing people to the Way. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Birmingham Bible Church’s future is bright. The church is looking to create change in people’s lives locally, nationally, and internationally. We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching, and Spirit-led church dedicated to developing the whole person: spirit, mind, and body.
Our Church
We are a non-denominational, Bible-teaching, and Spirit-led church dedicated to developing the whole person: spirit, mind, and body.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to lead people to Christ, who is The Way, and promote life change through relevant ministry. Our goal is to make disciples who will trust and only obey King Jesus and point them to The Way.
Why the Way
Our purpose is to lead people to Christ, who is The Way, and promote life change through relevant ministry. The expression “Followers of the Way” was perhaps the first title given to those who followed Jesus after His resurrection (Acts 9:2, 22:4, 24:14). Because Jesus taught that He is “the way, the truth, and the life,” and that no one comes to God except through Him (John 14:6), this title aptly captures the whole truth of Jesus and the total commitment to following Him.
